Seafair 2018 TFRs Coming Next Week

Blue Angels at Boeing FieldIt’s that time of year again, when the Blue Angels light up the sky for Seafair and the FAA protects the airspace with Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs). There will be TFRs up several times next week. While the exact size and location information for the TFRs isn’t posted on the FAA’s website yet, King County International Airport has shared the following with us:

Boeing Field’s airspace (and the surrounding area in the TFR) will be closed during Blue Angel practice and air show performance times. Airspace closures are as follows:

Please take a moment to check your schedules and make adjustments as possible for departure and arrival times. We want to be sure you get to fly. Perhaps a little shift in departure or arrival time will give you just what you need for a cross-country or lunch trip? We’ll work with you to help adjust your schedule as needed to ensure you can fly. Keep in mind the TFRs are northeast of BFI, so flights to the south and west will keep you out of the busy area.

For those customers who want to see the Blues ramp side at Galvin please be aware that you will need to be escorted by a Galvin employee with Airport Badge or have your Pilot’s Certificate and Photo ID on you at all times. Airport security will be on high alert to ensure everyone’s safety.

If you have any questions, please give our Chief Pilot or Assistant Chief Pilot a call at 206-763-9706.
